The longest one-day cycle race in the world is always a colossal challenge but this year’s 2013 Milano-Sanremo pushed some riders beyond their limit of endurance. With heavy rain turning to snow that turned the route into a luge run, the race had to be suspended at one point whilst riders were bussed along the coast to resume the last 126km. The freezing cold was too much for some riders who pulled out, but not for 26-year-old German Gerard Ciolek, who triumphed as the surprise winner.
As a regular main sponsor of the Milano-Sanremo race, Ferroli Group is proud to be associated with the men of steel who take part in this gruelling race and we send warmest congratulations to everyone who took part.
