UK-wide Ferroli boiler training courses available now

Ferroli Training at Ystrad Mynach College 1  1st June 2015

At Ferroli we take training very seriously – no matter how well-built the boiler, it can only sustain  optimum performance if it’s been correctly installed and maintained. That’s why we are continually  expanding our training centres across the UK so that our installers have the knowledge and  confidence  needed to fit Ferroli boilers for their customers.

Our free 1 day current product awareness training courses are designed to give engineers a  comprehensive  understanding of installation requirements, appliance set-up and servicing, fault  finding and parts replacement.

Training is led by Dean Mallows, our peerless expert on all things technical. Dean’s years of experience in a classroom environment means he’s a great communicator who ensures that both experienced and novice installers come away with the genuinely useful skills needed to deliver a better service to their customers that will help them build business.

We offer installer product awareness training on our current domestic boiler range at 13 locations across the UK:

At South Lanarkshire College East Kilbride, Coleg y Cymoedd Ystrad Mynach and at our head office in Burton-upon-Trent training takes place in our brand new fully fitted kitchen settings where students can work on many our boilers, including the Modena combi & system, DOMIcondens, Optima
x, Fer and Energy  Top models.

Our other training locations are at: Sunderland, Bradford, Halifax, Doncaster, Waltham Abbey, Basildon, Southampton, Manchester, and Blackpool.

We also offer hands-on service/fault finding courses on our older range of boilers; these can be configured to suit the attendee’s requirements. These courses usually consist of no more than four persons to allow maximum attention to the individual’s training requirements and are fully hands-on. These courses are chargeable and are currently only available at our head office in Burton-upon-Trent.

For more information on our training courses and how to book, please contact us on training@ferroli.co.uk 0330 205 0000. All persons attending training must be Gas Safe Registered.

Dante Ferroli 1929 – 2015

Dante Ferroli

As a family-owned company, it is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dante Ferroli, the President and founder of Ferroli Group. He died aged 85 years on Monday 13th April.

Dante Ferroli founded the Ferroli Group in San Bonifacio, Italy, in 1955. Over the ensuing 60 years his leadership and dedication led to the Ferroli Group becoming one of the world’s major heating & cooling appliance manufacturers. Following a partnership with Brassware Sales formed in the late 1980s, Ferroli UK was established in 1997. Now operating in 14 countries, the Ferroli Group continues to develop innovative technology in the heating, cooling and renewable energy markets.

Despite this sad loss, Ferroli Group will continue to grow and develop and Dante Ferroli’s invaluable and inspirational contribution to the development of the HVAC industry will always be remembered.

Ferroli training is now available in the Valleys

Further education college, Coleg y Cymoedd – meaning college of the valleys – is now THE place to go in  South Wales for full training on the Ferroli Modena HE range of domestic boilers.

At the Ystrad Mynach campus in Caerphilly,  Level 4 gas engineers can learn how to install and maintain  the Modena boiler on fully working 27kW & 32kW combi and 18kW system models.

Lea Thomas, Coleg y Cymoedd’s Gas Centre Manager & Assessor, wanted to extend the scope of the college’s  gas training courses by having the most modern and user-friendly appliances on-site that would give students skills that could be immediately put into practice in the workplace.

“A colleague recommended Ferroli as a partner for our gas assessment courses after hearing about the excellent performance of the new Modena boilers. I contacted AJ Kalirai, the Ferroli ASM for our area, and within just two weeks the training room was set up and fully functioning, ready for the start of the 2014 autumn term.

“Feedback from our students has been brilliant. The Modena boilers are easy to work on and our students feel they have learnt genuinely useful skills.”

At Coleg y Cymoedd’s Ystrad Mynach campus,  professional gas engineers can renew their Gas Safe registration.  Level 1, 2 & 3 Plumbing qualifications are also available at the Aberdare, Nantgarw and Ystrad Mynach campuses.

We’re going to be at PHEX Chelsea – come and see us!

With less than a week to go we’re now on the countdown to PHEX Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 12 & 13 November.

We’re very excited about this year’s exhibition because we have a fabulous brand new stand design that we know will catch your eye, so make sure you come along to 61&62 and have a look for yourself.

Of course the main attraction on our stand is our flagship Modena HE range of domestic boilers, that’s the star of our show.

The Modena remains one of the smallest, lightest, quietest complete combi boilers available and – we believe – is the most user-friendly boiler in its class on the market.

At PHEX you’ll be able to have a good look inside the Modena on display and see just how much clear space there is inside the boiler to work in. No clutter, wires, clunky components to get in the way when you’re trying to work; no sharp edges to cut your fingers on and only 4 moving parts so it’s easy to service and maintain – all this in a very compact and beautifully built appliance.

We’ve just added a new powerful 38kW combi model to the range so the line-up currently features 27kw, 32kW & 38Kw combi and 18kw, 25kW and 32kW system models. All come with the choice of a 7, 5 or 2 year parts & labour warranty without the need to buy any extras – it’s a genuine guarantee of reliability and peace of mind for your customers.

We’ll also be showing our highly adaptable light commercial boilers, the Econcept 51A and Energy Top, both of which are suitable for larger residential installations that require 40kW and above and can be installed in cascade operation to enable outputs up to 492kW without the need for additional controls.

We love coming to PHEX because we get to chat to the people who matter most – our customers – so come along to stand 61&62 to say hello, tell us about yourself and sign up for our exciting new club – find out more on the day!

Size matters! The new 38c Modena HE packs a punch… and is still very small, light, quiet and affordable

The latest addition to Ferroli’s Modena HE range of high efficiency domestic boilers delivers a mighty 38kW output whilst remaining one of the smallest, lightest, quietest and most affordable complete combi boilers on the market.

Perfect for larger domestic properties, the new 38c Modena HE comes with all the same superb features as the 27kW and 32kW models but is still one of the most compact and lightweight boilers in its class at just 600 x 400 x 350mm and 33kg. That’s a massive 38kW for a mere 30mm extra depth and 1.5kg extra weight.

“The size, weight and price of this boiler for such high performance leaves the competition standing,” said Ferroli’s sales director John Moran. “A comparison of the key features of the Modena HE 38c against other 38kW boilers on the market sees the Modena way out in front. No other boiler combines the advantages of size, weight, choice of warranties and price with such superb DHW flow rates, heat output, reliability and build quality.”

The 38kW combi delivers DHW flow rates of 16 l/min at 35°C rise and has a maximum heat output of 37.1kW. Extensive flueing options with a reach of up to 60m allows for increased flexibility when replacing older boilers  and only four moving parts means it is highly reliable and easy to maintain. All Modena HE boilers come with the choice of a 7, 5 or 2 year warranty for complete peace of mind for both customers and installers alike.

“The 38kW model is what our installers have been asking for,” John added. “Their customers have been so satisfied with the reliability, performance and affordable price of the Modena boilers they’ve been putting in that it’s become their boiler of choice, but until now they couldn’t specify a Modena for customers with larger homes. With the powerful new 38kw combi model, they can now recommend it to all householders, confident that it will deliver all the heat and hot water they could need.”

With phase 2 of the ErP directive due to come into force in January 2015, a boiler that is fully compliant with the new rules needs to be affordable if targets on cutting carbon usage are to be met. The Modena more than meets these requirements and is fitted with a high efficiency Wilo pump that complies with the new standards. Crucially, it’s priced to sell and that’s what will move boilers off the shelves and into houses.

“A superior quality appliance doesn’t need to cost a fortune and we want homeowners to be able to access the latest energy saving boilers that will help cut fuel bills and carbon use,” John added.

Joining the range later this year will be a 38kW system model and a 27kw combi storage boiler for even greater adaptability to suit all domestic installation requirements.

Ferroli is supporting Gas Safety Week: Fighting for a Gas Safe nation

We are proud to be supporting Gas Safety Week 2014, taking place 15th – 21st September.

Gas Safety Week is an annual safety week to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of taking care of your gas appliances. It is co-ordinated by Gas Safe Register, the official list of gas engineers who are legally allowed to work on gas.

Badly fitted and poorly serviced gas appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning. Every year thousands of people across the UK are diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning. It is a highly poisonous gas. You can’t see it, taste it or smell it, but it can kill quickly with no warning.

If you’re a Gas Safe registered engineer, help remind customers they should:

  • Check their gas appliances every year. Gas appliances should be safety checked once a year and serviced regularly by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Tenants – make sure the landlord arranges this. Encourage your customers to set a reminder so they don’t forget at www.staygassafe.co.uk.
  • Check their engineer is Gas Safe registered. They can find and check an engineer at www.GasSafeRegister.co.uk or call 0800 408 5500.
  • Check their engineer’s Gas Safe Register ID card. Make sure they are qualified for the work they need doing. They can find this information on the back of the card.
  • Check for warning signs their appliances aren’t working correctly e.g. lazy yellow or orange flames instead of crisp blue ones, black marks on or around the appliance and too much condensation in the room.
  • Check they know the six signs of carbon monoxide poisoning – headaches, dizziness, breathlessness, nausea, collapse and loss of consciousness.
  • Check they have an audible carbon monoxide alarm. This will alert them if there is carbon monoxide in their home.

Be part of this national campaign with events, advertising and PR taking place across the country to help keep the nation Gas Safe. To get involved and order materials to raise awareness of gas safety visit www.gassafetyweek.co.uk. Alternatively email marketing@gassaferegister.co.uk.

Identify the commercial boiler you need in just a few clicks

Identifying the most suitable appliance from our extensive range of commercial and industrial boilers just got really easy.

We’ve created a new online enquiry system that allows customers to give us as much or as little information as they have available and our clever widget will match their requirements with the most suitable boilers.

The search criteria cover all potential aspects of an installation including output, fuel type, efficiency, operation type, commissioning and project delivery date. It also allows for documents to be uploaded which saves the time and effort of having to explain a complicated request – just pass it on to us and we’ll use our expert knowledge to work out what’s required and which of our boilers will provide the best solution for the job.

Searches can result in one boiler that precisely matches the criteria given or a selection of boilers will be returned for further consideration until the ideal appliance is identified. All results are clearly displayed on the screen and when the enquiry is submitted, a member of our commercial sales team will review the information given before getting in touch to talk further about how we can help.
